Is Rohit Sharma fit for 2nd Test against Bangladesh? KL Rahul shares big update after 1st Test

India made a big progression in the World Test Championship points table with a 188-run win over Bangladesh in the first Test of the two-match series. Courtesy of a half-century from Cheteshwar Pujara and Shreyas Iyer, India put up a huge total of 404 on the board in the first innings.
Riding on Kuldeep Yadav’s five-for, India bowled out the hosts for a mere total of 150 in their first innings. India decided against enforcing the follow-on and batted again, thus setting up a target of 513 for Bangladesh. The Shakib al Hasan-led side did bat for more than a day but failed to scale the chase.
India were without the services of Rohit SharmaKL Rahul registered his first win as Test captain in his absence. Rohit is likely to make his return for the 2nd Test match but Rahul isn’t aware about it.
Speaking to the press after the Test match, Rahul revealed that an official update on Rohit should be out in next one or two days. “About Rohit, we will get to know in the next day or two. I am not even aware of it. The focus was completely on the Test match,” he said.
As per reports, Rohit is now fit and will lead India in the last match of the series. He had returned home to consult a specialist for the injury he suffered during the 2nd ODI. Rohit injured his thumb while fielding on December 7 and missed the 3rd ODI and the opening Test match.
Rahul, who is the designated vice-captain in all three formats, could very well lose his spot upon Rohit’s return as he failed to breach the 30-run mark in both innings. Shubman Gill pressed his case to retain his spot with a century in the 2nd innings. Cheteshwar Pujara also shone with bat and played knocks of 90 and 102* across 2 innings.
