IPL 2022: DC to play PBKS as per schedule after Seifert tests positive for COVID

Another Delhi Capitals (DC) player has reportedly tested positive for COVID-19 ahead of the Rishabh Pant-led side’s upcoming match in the 15th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) on Wednesday. The recent development has come a day after Delhi Capitals’ IPL 2022 game against Mayank Agarwal’s Punjab Kings (PBKS) was shifted to Mumbai from Pune in the wake of the virus outbreak at the franchise camp.
Besides Australian all-rounder Mitchell Marsh, four members of the Delhi Capitals franchise had tested positive for the deadly virus amid the first phase of the cash-rich league. After DC physio Patrick Farhart, sports massage therapist Chetan Kumar, team doctor Abhijit Salvi and social media content team member Akash Mane tested positive for COVID-19, another player of the DC franchise contracted novel coronavirus on Wednesday.
As per the recent reports, the COVID-positive result came after a Rapid Antigen Test which was conducted on Wednesday morning prior to match No.32 of the IPL 2022 between Delhi and Punjab. Pant-led Delhi Capitals will lock horns with Agarwal & Co. in match No.32 of the IPL 2022 at the Brabourne Stadium on Wednesday.
According to multiple reports, New Zealand wicketkeeper batter Tim Siefert is the sixth member of the Delhi Capitals franchise who has tested positive for COVID-19 amid the ongoing season of the cash-rich league. Earlier, DC’s all-rounder Marsh was admitted to a hospital after testing positive for COVID-19.
The Delhi Capitals medical team is closely monitoring Marsh’s condition. All remaining members of the bubble are currently in isolation in their respective rooms, and will be tested regularly,” the DC franchise had said in a statement on Twitter. Runners-up in the 2020 edition of the world’s richest league, the Pant-led DC side is placed 8th in the IPL 2022 standings. Delhi Capitals have registered 2 wins from 5 matches this season. DC’s IPL 2022 match against Rajasthan Royals (RR) has been shifted to Wankhede from Pune.
