Interglobe Aviation (IndiGo) on Tuesday announced the appointment of Gaurav Negi as its new chief financial officer (CFO). Negi’s appointment follows CFO Jiten Chopra’s resignation from his post a day earlier on Monday.
The board of directors of the company agreed on the same at a meeting called by Interglobe earlier in the day. Negi’s appointment will come into effect immediately.
“The board of directors of the company at their meeting held today, i.e., March 29, 2022, has approved the appointment of Gaurav Negi as the chief financial officer of the company with effect from March 29, 2022,” the company said in an exchange filing. However, the term of his appointment has not been mentioned in the filing.
“Mr. Gaurav Negi has more than two decades of diverse exposure in the field of Finance, Corporate Governance and Business Operations. A Chartered Accountant and certified Six Sigma Blackbelt, he has held senior management responsibilities across various industries and worked In multiple countries,” the company said.
Before getting associated with Interglobe Aviation, Negi spent over 2 decades with General Electric Company, where he was part of their Global Leadership programs in Finance and Executive management.
In his last role with GE, Negi was the CFO for On Shore Wind (segment of GE Renewable Energy headquartered in Paris, France), APAC & Non-Executive Director, GE Transmission & Distribution (GE T&D) India. He joined IndiGo as Senior Vice President and Head – Governance, Risk and Compliance on December 1, 2021.
He is an alumnus of the Hindu College, Delhi University, where he studied Commerce. Negi is a Chartered Accountant from the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India.
Meanwhile, India’s largest airline IndiGo launched 100 flights connecting key domestic metro cities and regional centres, starting from March 27, 2022. Accordingly, the airline also introduced flights on 20 exclusive routes effective March 27, 2022, the day India resumed international flight operations.
