Defence Minister Rajnath Singh applauded India’s growing security apparatus and said that we have never attacked or hurt any nation first, but present-day India will give a fitting response to anyone who tries to test it. The defence minister was addressing a virtual event, where he highlights the induction of Made in India weapons into the armed forces and assured the people that strict vigil is being maintained at the borders and India is prepared to deal with all sorts of challenges.
“India is a peace-loving nation. We have never tried to hurt any country, nor will we ever do but if any attempt is made to disrupt the peace and harmony in the country, a befitting reply will be given,” Rajnath Singh said during the event.
Adding that inducting indigenous weapons in the arsenal of our armed forces is the priority for the government as it wants to make the defence sector of India Atmanirbhar, Singh said “Made-in-India” ships and other equipment reflects the resolve to achieve complete ‘aatmanirbharta’ (self-reliance) in the defence sector soon.
Rajnath Singh urged Indians to contribute to nation building
The defence minister also appealed to the citizens to contribute to nation-building and asked them to rise above the religious and caste barriers and imbibe a feeling of unity and patriotism among themselves. He also urged the Indians to read about and respect our soldiers and freedom fighters.
“It is the duty of every citizen to carry forward the ideals and resolutions of our freedom fighters and soldiers, protect the unity, integrity and sovereignty of our nation and play their part in building a strong, prosperous and self-reliant ‘New India’,” he said.
