India has expressed concern over China’s military buildup along the Line of Actual Control (LAC) during the recently held talks between the two armies. According to a report by news agency ANI, the Indian side believes that there are reasons for concern as the Chinese side has been building roads and highways as well as settlements near the LAC in eastern Ladakh.
The People’s Liberation Army has also deployed heavy military equipment including missile regiments. Citing officials in the government establishment, the agency report said that the Chinese military is also constructing infrastructure for its the People’s Liberation Army Air Force (PLAAF) and PLA in depth-areas to keep them hidden from the American and other satellites.

“A major wide highway is also being developed which will further improve the connectivity of the Chinese military positions on the LAC with the hinterland,” a source was quoted as saying in the agency report.
The report further cited that the Chinese side is better prepared compared to the previous winter. Among other things, there has been an increase in the use of drones and the Chinese side has also deployed missile and rocket regiments near the areas controlled by the PLA.
Amid an ongoing standoff, the Indian side has also stepped up its deployment along the LAC and has diverted Pakistan-centric regiments along the borders facing China. As reported by Times Now, the Indian and Chinese sides have held several rounds of diplomatic as well as military-level engagements. The impasse has however remained unresolved
