‘India ko hazam nahi hua ki PAK kaise aage nikal gaya’: Sacked PCB chief Ramiz Raja makes explosive claim

After Pakistan suffered an embarrassing 0-3 defeat against England in the three-match Test series at home, former cricketer Ramiz Raja was removed from his position as Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chief. The 60-year-old was appointed for the top job last year, but following a poor run of results at home, he was sacked, and, in his place, Najam Sethi was reappointed as the PCB boss. During Raja’s tenure, Pakistan reached the finals of the Asia Cup and T20 World Cup this year but failed to win the top prize.
And so, despite the recent poor run, the former cricketer lauded Pakistan’s performance during his tenure and said that it was outstanding. In addition to praising the Men in Green’s display in the last year and a half or so, Raja also made an explosive statement about Indian cricket and said that it was his team’s stunning show in limited-overs cricket that forced India to make wholesale changes in their setup. According to him, India was not able to digest Pakistan’s progress, as a result of which they made changes in their unit.
“We gave outstanding performances in white-ball cricket. We played in the Asia Cup final; India didn’t play in that. India, a billion-dollar industry, was left behind. Tod phod hui, unhone apna chief selector, selection committee fire kar di, captain badal diye kyunki unko hazam nahi hua ki Pakistan unse kaise aage nikal gaya. (They fired their chief selector, their selection committee, and changed the captain because they couldn’t digest how Pakistan went ahead of them),” Ramiz told Suno TV.
In the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2022, India once again failed to deliver in crunch situations and suffered an embarrassing 10-wicket defeat against England in the semifinals. As a result of India’s failure to win an ICC title, the board sacked the entire Chetan Sharma-led selection committee.
Speaking further about his tenure as PCB chairman, Raja, who was part of the 1992 ODI World Cup-winning Pakistan team, said: “This is just like France firing their entire board even after they played in the FIFA World Cup final.
