India and Australia are all set to lock horns in the second Test of the five-match series at the Adelaide Oval ground in Adelaide. The Indian team currently lead the five-match series by a margin of 1-0 and will be looking forward to consolidate their lead. On the other hand, Australia will have the pressure of making a comeback and levelling the series. However, the Pat Cummins led side is dealing with a lot of issues which includes injuries to players whereas there were also rumours of grouping between the team players.
Australian pacer Josh Hazlewood, who ended up being the most successful pacer for the Australian team in the first Test, has been ruled out from the second Test of the series due to a side strain injury. However, Scott Boland will be replacing Hazlewood in the second Test and the same was confirmed by Australian captain Pat Cummins during the pre-match press conference. Boland was the part of Australia’s full-time squad and took part in the pink-ball Test for Prime Minister’s XI against India. Boland showcased brilliant display of line and length throughout the match and have the capability to trouble the Indian batters. However, Scott Boland hasn’t played much Test cricket in the past.
The Australian team is among the most deadly sides in its home conditions. The Aussies play one of their best cricket at home and they will want to play in the same fashion against India as well. The Australian team led by Pat Cummins were exposed against Indian bowlers and their main challenge will be to find out the counter plan for Jasprit Bumrah.
