The Karnataka unit of the Congress party has put out a derogatory tweet against Prime Minister Narendra Modi, calling him an ‘illiterate’ and a ‘beggar’. In a tweet from its official Twitter account, Karnataka Congress alleged that the Congress party ‘built schools’, but PM Modi ‘did not read’. According to the online translation of the post, the tweet also alleged that the BJP has made countrymen ‘beggars’.
The allegations come ahead of the polls in two constituencies in Karnataka. Bypolls for the Sindagi and Hanagala constituencies on October 30. “Congress built schools, though @narendramodi Didn’t read, but did read the adult education project, Despite the ban on begging, those who have become obsessed with begging and lazy life have become the country’s bhikkhus today. Post ‘exposes’ the Congress party: BJP
Condemning the tweet, Malavika Avinash, BJP leader said that the post ‘exposes’ the Congress party which has been facing an ‘existential crisis’ across the country ‘as well as in Karnataka’.
“I can only feel sorry for the kind of language that the Karnataka Congress has been using over the past few days. They have been falling lower and lower. They are facing an existential crisis in the country and Karnataka. For Congress to hide its own infighting, this is the language they have been using… Here is a prime minister who is the pride of the world, but the Congress party comes up with a low comment against PM, it just exposes them,” she told
The congress party has reportedly been facing infighting within its Karnataka unit. While the tiffs between former chief minister Siddaramaiah and state party chief DK Shivakumar have been reported, former media coordinator and MP recently exposed alleged corruption by DK Shivakumar.
