IIFA 2024: Shah Rukh Khan Reclaims His Throne, Wins Top Honour and Wows Fans

The IIFA 2024 Awards ceremony, held on September 28 in Abu Dhabi, celebrated the best of Indian cinema in a star-studded event. The Best Picture award went to Animal, produced by Bhushan Kumar, Krishan Kumar, and Pranay Reddy Vanga. Vidhu Vinod Chopra won Best Director for his film 12th Fail, while Shah Rukh Khan took home the Best Actor (Male) award for his powerful performance in Jawan. Rani Mukerji was named Best Actress (Female) for her role in Mrs Chatterjee vs Norway.

In the supporting categories, Anil Kapoor won Best Supporting Actor (Male) for Animal, and Shabana Azmi was awarded Best Supporting Actress (Female) for her role in Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani. Bobby Deol was recognized for his role in Animal with the Best Performance in a Negative Role.

For the musical awards, the team of Pritam, Vishal Mishra, Manan Bhardwaj, Shreyas Puranik, Jaani, Bhupinder Babbal, Ashim Kemson, and Harshavardhan Rameshwar won Best Music Direction for Animal. Bhupinder Babbal was named Best Playback Singer (Male) for Arjan Vailly from Animal, while Shilpa Rao won Best Playback Singer (Female) for Chaleya from Jawan.

The night also saw special awards being given out, with Hema Malini honored for her Outstanding Achievement in Indian Cinema, and Alizeh Agnihotri winning Debutant of the Year. The Best Story award went to Ishita Moitra, Shashank Khaitan, and Sumit Roy for Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani, while Siddharth Singh & Garima Wahal won Best Lyrics for Satranga from Animal.

The IIFA 2024 event spanned three days, from September 27 to 29, featuring IIFA Utsavam, which celebrated the South film industry, the main awards night on Day 2, and IIFA Rocks for the music industry on Day 3. Siddhant Chaturvedi and Abhishek Banerjee hosted the IIFA Rocks event, which added to the excitement of the night.
