Amidst the ongoing row between BCCI and PCB over the Champions Trophy 2025, a report from Cricbuzz has claimed that the International Cricket Council (ICC) will conduct a meeting to resolve the issue over the upcoming marquee tournament. The report states that the meeting is scheduled to take place on Thursday evening and it is scheduled to begin from 05:00 PM IST (Indian Standard Time). The meeting will be headed by newly elected ICC chairman Jay Shah and all the 15 cricket board members will be participating in the meeting.
The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) is pretty much expected to agree over the hybrid model as they had been opposing it from a long time. If such happens, UAE will emerge as the prime contender to host the matches which are expected to be held under the hybrid model. This includes three of Team India’s group matches and two knockout games.
The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has made four to five key demands which are very unlikely to be accepted by the apex cricket body. One of the prime demand of the PCB’s is that same treatment shall be given to them in the upcoming ICC tournaments which are set to take place in India. Another demand which has been made by the PCB is the compensation of shifting five matches outside Pakistan and it is pretty expected that there this demand will be fulfilled.
