It seems after Pathaan and Tiger 3, Yash Raj Films is gearing up to bring back Major Kabir to the big screens. As per latest reports Hrithik Roshan who played the character is War will soon be seen essaying it again in War 2.

Earlier today film producer and business expert Girish Johar took to Twitter to share the news, writing, “Major Kabir is BACK !!! 💣💥💣💥💣💥💣💥💣💥💣 #HrithikRoshan returns in #YRFSpyUniverse with #War2, shoot start by end of 2023” So, if reports are to go by the new film will hit floors by the end of of 2023 itself.
Furthermore, a report by Peepingmoon suggests that Yash Raj Films is indeed making War 2. As per the report, Aditya Chopra and Shridhar Raghavan have finished the scripting, and the film will go into production at the end of this year.
A source told the publication that Hrithik Roshan and Tiger Shroff’s War was the third YRF spy film after Ek Tha Tiger and Tiger Zinda Hai. However, the source added that the that film was created as a solo film with no clear connection to the previous Tiger movies.
Crossover between spy films
“Pathaan started the crossover of previous spy characters, and was directly linked to War. Salman’s Diwali release, Tiger 3, will continue the crossover, with SRK’s character making an extended cameo. And then will come Hrithik’s War 2, which will be a massive crossover of all five previous spy films,” the source revealed.
According to the report, the sequel has been written in such a way that it has a connection with the previous spy stories. Hrithik will return as Major Kabir Dhaliwal; however, it’s yet unknown if the film will tell Kabir’s backstory with Jim (John Abraham) or it’ll be set in a completely new setting.
