Vikram Vedha, starring Hrithik Roshan and Saif Ali Khan, has remained in the limelight for a long time due to various reasons. When the first look of the two superstars from the revenge drama was unveiled, it created a massive buzz among fans.
However, the Pushkar-Gayathri directorial got embroiled in a controversy when Hrithik appealed to fans to watch Aamir Khan’s Laal Singh Chaddha in theatres. Hrithik lauding Aamir’s film led to boycott calls against Vikram Vedha.
It was amid all this noise that the makers dropped the first teaser of the film and it took the internet by storm. Within a week of release, it has become one of the most-liked Hindi film teasers. Thus far, Vikram Vedha teaser has fetched over 1 million likes on YouTube with 22 million views.
Reacting to the overwhelming response to his film’s teaser, Hrithik expressed his gratitude and said, “The whole team of Vikram Vedha submitted to the vision of Pushkar-Gayathri in bringing this film to life. Our teaser was a little glimpse of the world of Vikram Vedha, and the response that it has garnered is heartwarming.”
He added, “I have been told that the teaser stands to be the most liked Hindi film teaser, and the number of viewers it has reached to across social media platforms is hugely rewarding for me as an artist. We cannot wait to present our film to the audience.
Saif also shared his excitement about Vikram Vedha teaser setting new records. “It feels good to know that the teaser of ‘Vikram Vedha’ is the most liked teaser for a Hindi film till date. We all have put in so much of our love and hard work into making this film, and learning that our audience is as excited as we are to witness the film in theatres is the most positive outcome for me as an actor,” he said.
Vikram Vedha is a remake of the 2017 Tamil blockbuster of the same name. The original, which was also directed by Pushkar-Gayathri, was headlined by Vijay Sethupathi and R Madhavan.
In the remake, Hrithik will be seen in Vijay’s shoes as Vikram, whereas Saif is reprising Madhavan’s Vedha. The Hindi version will be arriving in theatres on September 30
