Actor Tom Cruise bagged the first place in the salary chart of the top Hollywood stars list. The actor earned more than $100 million with Top Gun: Maverick. Will Smith is second with $35 million for his film Emancipation. Leonardo DiCaprio, Brad Pitt, Dwayne Johnson, Vin Diesel, and Joaquin Phoenix are also there on the list.
Tom, who featured in and produced the successful movie Top Gun: Maverick, is reportedly expecting to collect more than $100 million from box office sales, his salary, and streaming money. Top Gun: Maverick, which was released in May and reportedly grossed $1.2 billion worldwide, is the first Tom Cruise film to surpass that milestone.
A new survey by Variety revealed, Cruise is far ahead of the competition of the world’s highest-paid actors. Variety also reported that Tom “gets box office bonuses before the studio (Paramount Pictures) even breaks.” Let us tell you, this is the 12th film in history to cross 600 million domestic earnings.
A movie executive told Variety, “I would never bet against Tom Cruise. Most actors aren’t worth what you pay them, but Cruise and maybe Dwayne Johnson justify their salaries.” For the unversed, Dwayne earned $22.5 million for his upcoming film Black Adam.
The second most earner is Will Smith with 35 million for Emancipation which he signed in 2020. Smith’s highest-paid movie to date was Men In Black 3 in 2012, for which he reportedly received $100 million.
Other notable film earners include Leonardo DiCaprio, who received $30 million for Martin Scorsese’s upcoming film, Killers of the Flower Moon, and Brad Pitt, who received $30 million for an untitled Formula 1 drama.
Meanwhile, Chris Hemsworth (Extraction 2), Denzel Washington (Equalizer 3), Vin Diesel (Fast X), Joaquin Phoenix (Joker 2), Tom Hardy (Venom 3), Will Ferrell (Spirited), and Ryan Reynolds (Spirited) all earned $20 million for their films.
Margot Robbie and Ryan Gosling, stars of the highly anticipated upcoming Barbie film, were lower on the list, each earning $12.5 million.
