Model-turned-actor Medha Rana is set to make her big Bollywood debut in Border 2, stepping into the role of Varun Dhawan’s leading lady. The announcement was officially made on Monday, July 28, and marks a major milestone in Medha’s growing career.

T-series captioned the post: “We’re happy to welcome #MedhaRana to the #Border2 family as the female lead opposite #VarunDhawan. Get ready for a monumental saga of courage and patriotism, as Border 2 arrives in cinemas on January 23, 2026.”

Who Is Medha Rana?

Medha was born on December 25, 1999, in Bengaluru, and spent most of her childhood in Gurugram and Delhi. She studied at Army Public School and later pursued a BBA in Finance and Marketing from Christ University, Bengaluru.

At just 13, she was spotted by fashion stylist and choreographer Prasad Bidapa at a mall in Chandigarh while shopping with her parents. A brief conversation during a fashion event eventually set her on the path to modelling.

“Fate had its way,” Medha shared with Indulgexpress, “My dad got posted to Bengaluru right after Chandigarh. He’s in the army. We then moved to the city and I thought to myself: why don’t I explore this side of the world also? So, when I was 16, I started working with Prasad and there was no turning back after that. One thing led to another. I moved to Mumbai to take this career seriously as I was now sure I wanted to be an actor and then I bagged London Files. It happened through an audition, through a very random audition, where the team happened to like me and then they called me a few more times and we did a bunch of more rounds of auditions and workshops before it was finally confirmed.”

Medha Rana’s Work So Far:

Medha made her acting debut with the web series London Files, alongside Arjun Rampal and Purab Kohli, portraying the character Maya Roy. The show premiered on Voot India.

She gained further attention in Netflix’s Friday Night Plan, where she starred opposite Babil Khan.

A known face in advertising, Medha has appeared in campaigns for brands like Ponds, Nescafe, and Livon, among others.

Directed by Anurag Singh, Border 2 is the long-awaited sequel to the 1997 cult classic Border. The film also stars Ahan Shetty and Diljit Dosanjh in pivotal roles and it is all set to release on January 23, 2026,
