The Congress took a swipe at Prime Minister Narendra Modi over his “drone” remarks and said that he and his drones both are “blind to the sufferings of the people of our country”.
Speaking at an event on Friday, PM Modi had said that he conducts surprise inspections of development work across the country with the help of drones.
Hitting out at PM Modi, the Congress said that he and his drones are alike as “both are blind to the sufferings of the people of our country.”
It further said Prime Minister’s drone could not see “people crying, dying, burning pyres and piles of corpses”.
Congress spokesperson Sunil Ahire tweeted, “PM Modi’s drones only see what suits BJP‘s agenda. Chinese intrusion is a matter deliberately left unseen.”
He said PM Modi’s drone could not see China’s encroachment of India land, Chinese bridges, Chinese villages in Arunachal Pradesh and martyrdom of 20 soldiers.
Addressing the Bharat Drone Mahotsav in Delhi, Prime Minister Modi said the use of drones will rise in key sectors like agriculture, defence, disaster management and sports, and that India has the potential to become the world’s drone hub.
He further said that the drone industry will emerge as a key employment generation sector in India, and will “revolutionise” how services are provided to the public and also make it easier for providing government services.
