A case was registered  against Haryana’s DGP Shatrujeet Singh Kapur and Rohtak SP Narendra Bijarniya following a complaint by IAS officer Amneet P. Kumar, wife of the late officer Y Puran Kumar. In the complaint, she accused the duo of abetting her husband’s suicide and committing offences under the SC/ST (Prevention of Atrocities) Act.

On Tuesday, Senior Haryana Police IPS officer Y. Puran Kumar allegedly shot himself dead at his residence in Chandigarh. The incident took place in Sector 11 of the city. A will and a nine-page suicide note were recovered from the spot.

In her statement, 2001-batch IAS officer Amneet P. Kumar said she was complaining both as a “grieving wife and a responsible public servant”. Meanwhile, she alleged that sustained workplace harassment, caste-based discrimination, and personal humiliation led her husband to end his life on October 7, 2025.
