Heritage Aviation is set to boost tourism and make traveling easier and smooth in Uttarakhand. Under the Central Government’s UDAN Scheme, the company has launched its new helicopter service from March 11, 2025, Heritage Aviation told News24. The service will connect four major cities in the state: Dehradun, Nainital, Bageshwar, and Haldwani.

The company aims to provide a promising and convenient travel experience to tourists and locals by cutting down the distance between the Kumaon and Garhwal divisions. This is great news for those looking for alternate travel options to avoid the long and tiring journey to Uttarakhand’s hilly areas. The 7-seater helicopter service will operate in key routes, which include Dehradun to Nainital, Dehradun to Bageshwar, Jolly Grant to Mussoorie, and Haldwani to Bageshwar.

Fares And Timings

The journey from Dehradun to Nainital, which earlier took 6 to 7 hours to complete by road, will now be covered within an hour. The same goes for other routes as well. The fixed fares for the air service, reportedly decided by the Uttarakhand Civil Aviation Development Authority (UCADA), are:

Dehradun to Nainital: Rs 4500 (Departure Time: 8.15 am and 2.25 pm)

Dehradun to Bageshwar: Rs 4000 (Departure Time: 10.20 am and 12.30 pm)

Haldwani to Bageshwar: Rs 3500 (Departure Time: 8.30 am and 2.25 pm)

Bageshwar to Dehradun: Rs 4000 (Departure Time: 11.10 am and 1.20 pm)

Besides promoting tourism, the helicopter service will also prove beneficial to residents and business travelers. At least two flights will regularly be operated on each route daily. Passengers can visit the official site www.airheritage.in to avail the helicopter service or contact 8851072020 for more information or updates.

Important Guidelines For Passengers

Correct Weight Disclosure: Passengers must provide correct weight while booking tickets as helicopter has weight limits in mountains. Incorrect disclosure of weight may lead to cancellation of boarding

Passenger Weight Limit: Only those passengers weighing up to 75 Kg will be permitted in the helicopter. Those weighing more than 75 Kg will be permitted only if the average weight of all passengers is within 75 Kg. Rs 100 per Kg will be charged from passengers weighing above 75 Kg (only If allowed to board)

Baggage Weight Limit: Only 5 Kgs of baggage is allowed per passenger. Excess baggage, if manageable, will be allowed at a charge of Rs 100 per Kg.
