Gautam Gambhir’s ‘aggressive’ celebration during LSG VS DC match goes viral, fans recall playing days

Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) dream debut season in the Indian Premier League (IPL) got even better on Sunday at the Wankhede Stadium as they beat Rishabh Pant-led Delhi Capitals (DC) by 6 runs at Mumbai’s Wankhede Stadium. With the win, LSG have climbed to second place on the IPL points table and taken a major step towards securing qualification towards the playoffs.
The KL Rahul-led outfit have now won 7 out of their 10 games. In Sunday’s clash vs DC, they put on a total of 195 on the board with skipper Rahul and the in-form Deepak Hooda scoring half-centuries. The match went to the last over before LSG held their nerve to seal a six-run victory.
Following their nerve-wrecking victory, there was visible relief in the LSG camp. The franchise’s mentor Gautam Gambhir’s reaction spoke a story in itself and his ‘aggressive’ celebration went viral on the internet following the win. The ex-Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) skipper was visibly delighted at the win and let out a huge cheer alongside other members of their support staff.
Gambhir’s celebration soon became the talk of the internet with many recalling Gambhir’s playing days. The former Indian cricketer was known to be an aggressive player during his career and someone who never shied away from showing his emotions.
LSG are in prime position to make the second round in their first-ever season in the league. Only fellow newcomers Gujarat Titans (GT) with 8 wins in 9 games are ahead of them in the points table. Rajasthan Royals (RR) with six wins in 9 games are a close third.
Talking about the clash vs DC; while it was Rahul and Hooda who stole the show with their batting, rookie pacer Mohsin Khan put up another impressive performance by taking four wickets and winning the Man of the Match (MOTM) award.
