Gadar 2 new poster out: Fierce Sunny Deol aka Tara Singh carries long hammer in FIRST look. Film to clash with Ranbir Kapoor’s Animal

Actor Sunny Deol is all set to reprise his role as Tara Singh in his upcoming film Gadar 2, also starring Ameesha Patel. On Thursday (January 26), Sunny Deol took to Instagram to share a new poster of the film and to announce the release date. The film is set to have a box office clash with Ranbir Kapoor’s Animal, during this Independence Day week.
Gadar 2 first poster out
Taking to Instagram, Sunny Deol dropped the first poster of Gadar 2 where he can be seen holding a long hammer in his hands in a fierce avatar. He can be seen sporting a green turban and wearing a black pathani kurta and pyjama. The background of the poster hints at the riots and army officers with weapons
He captioned the post, “Hindustan Zindabaad Hai….Zindabaad Tha.. .aur Zindabaad Rahega!Hindustan Zindabaad Hai….Zindabaad Tha.. .aur Zindabaad Rahega!#HappyRepublicDay.”
Gadar 2 to clash with Ranbir Kapoor’s Animal
After 22 years, Sunny Deol will once again reprise the role of Traa Singh while Ameesha Patel will be seen as Sakeena (Tara Singh’s wife). The film is set to release on August 11, the same day Ranbir Kapoor’s Animal is scheduled to be released.
About Gadar 2
Gadar 2, is a sequel to Gadar: Ek Prem Katha which takes a leap of 20 years and chronicles around a situation that brings back Traa Singh and Sakeena to Pakistan but this time to protect his sin Jeete (played by Urkarsh Sharma).
Talking about the same, Sunny Deol said in a statement, “Gadar – Ek Prem Katha has been an eminent part of my life, personally as well as professionally. Tara Singh from Gadar isn’t just a protagonist but went on to become a cult icon that defied all odds and crossed all boundaries for his Family and Love. Collaborating with the team after, 22 years was a creatively enriching experience.”
Director Anil Sharma said, “Gadar – Ek Prem Katha isn’t my film but it’s people’s film and dynamically shifted the paradigm of the Indian film industry. It went on to become a cult icon wherein people breathed Tara Singh and Sakina’s love story. We are absolutely thrilled to launch the first poster!”
