The Congress Working Committee (CWC) passed three resolutions, including on “diabolical attack” on farmers of the country, said party general secretary KC Venugopal.
Addressing media after the CWC meeting, Venugopal said: “We passed three resolutions – on the political situation, on inflation, and on acute agrarian distress and diabolical attack on India’s farmers.”
He also said that the CWC, the party’s highest decision-making body, has decided that the Congress will undertake mass agitation at ground level across the country between November 14 to 29 on the price rise.
The committee has also approved the schedule of organisational elections, said Venugopal, adding the party is going for a massive training program from top to bottom.
“Workers and leaders at all levels will be trained in party ideologies, policies, expectations of a Congress worker, grassroots messaging, election management, failure of the present government and countering propaganda,” he added.
Election for Cong chief between Aug 21-Sept 20 next year
Venugopal also announced that the elections to the post of Congress president will be held between August 21 to September 20, 2022.
“Election of PCC presidents, vice presidents, treasurers, PCC executives & AICC members will be held between July 21-August 20, 2022,” the party said.
“Enrolment of members for organisational polls from November 1 to March 31; district Congress committees to publish a preliminary list of members by March 31,” it added.
Sonia Gandhi earlier today said that she is a full-time and hands-on Congress president at the crucial CWC meeting.
