Flipkart Group has announced that Dan Bartlett, Executive Vice President of Corporate Affairs at Walmart Inc., has been appointed to its Board of Directors, effective November 21, 2024.
Bartlett, who leads corporate affairs at Walmart, brings extensive experience in public policy, sustainability, and corporate strategy. His responsibilities at Walmart include managing public policy initiatives, sustainability programs, and overseeing the development of Walmart’s new headquarters in Bentonville, Arkansas.
“Joining Flipkart’s board is an exciting opportunity. Flipkart has made significant strides in improving accessibility and value for Indian consumers and has a chance to play an even larger role in sustainable growth and job creation. I look forward to contributing to the company’s progress,” Bartlett said.
Kalyan Krishnamurthy, CEO of Flipkart Group, noted that Bartlett has been closely involved with Flipkart since Walmart’s investment in 2018. “His expertise in building sustainable and responsible businesses will be a valuable asset as Flipkart continues its growth,” Krishnamurthy added.
Earlier this year, former SoftBank managing partner Lydia Jett also joined Flipkart’s board.
Before his role at Walmart, Bartlett held senior positions at public relations firms such as Hill+Knowlton Strategies and Public Strategies, Inc. He also served in public service, including significant roles in George W. Bush’s political campaigns and as a counselor to the President during his time at the White House.
In 2024, Flipkart completed a nearly $1 billion funding round, which included $350 million from Google and $600 million from Walmart in primary capital.
