Fawad Khan’s Maula Jatt becomes highest-grossing Pakistani film, rakes in PKR 172 cr

One of the renowned Pakistani actors, Fawad Khan, stole gazillions of hearts with his stunning acting skills and killer looks. Well, recently, his latest film, The Legend Of Maula Jatt, has been on a record-breaking spree. Featuring Mahira Khan and Hamza Ali Abbasi in lead roles, the action-drama flick is currently in its fourth week, and has become the highest-grossing Pakistani movie of all time.
After surpassing Akshay Kumar’s Ram Setu and Ajay Devgn’s Thank God, the Bilal Lashari directorial has successfully managed to edge past two big Punjabi films, including Carry on Jatta 2Saukan Saunkne and Chal Mera Putt 2 as it sits tall with box office earnings of Rs172 crores worldwide. Apart from this, it also became the highest grossing Pakistani film of all time by beating Jawani Phir Nhi Aani 2.
However, a couple of weeks ago, the numbers raked in by Maula Jatt in Canada and the United Kingdon on its thirteenth day, which is quite higher than the combined opening day total of the two Bollywood biggies in these two countries. On the other hand, in Australia, Ram Setu has managed to edge past Maula Jatt by a small margin.
Talking about the film, The Legend of Maula Jatt is an adaptation of the 1979 Pakistani cult classic film of the same name. Creating history at the box office and has grossed more than 190 crores till the end of the 5th weekend. It seems that the film is all set to achieve the massive 200 crore mark within the next few days.
Produced by Ammara Hikmat, the film is a masterpiece, which also has a stunning cast, including Humaima Malick, Mirza Gohar Rasheed, Ali Azmat, Saima Baloch and Faris Shafi along with veteran evergreen actors Shafqat Cheema, Nayyer Ejaz, Reham Resham, Babar Ali and Raheela Agha.
