FASTag annual pass fee hiked: NHAI takes big decision, new rate to take effect from…, check new price, validity, other details

The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has announced an important change in the FASTag Annual Pass fee for the financial year 2026-27. The annual pass will now cost Rs 3,075, instead of Rs 3,000. This revised rate will come into effect from April 1, 2026.

The fee hike has been made in line with the National Highways Fee Rules, 2008, which govern how toll fees are decided and collected across the country’s national highways.

What did NHAI say about the fee revision?

The official NHAI handle on X stated that the revised fee will apply from April 1, 2026, for FY 2026-27. NHAI also highlighted that the Annual Pass continues to be a “seamless and cost-effective travel option” for highway users, with over 56 lakh subscribers already using the scheme across around 1,150 fee plazas on national highways and expressways.

What is the FASTag annual pass?

The FASTag Annual Pass was launched on August 15, 2025, with the aim of making highway travel hassle-free for private vehicle owners. Since its launch, the response has been massive, with more than 56 lakh people already subscribed to the pass, making it one of the most popular toll payment options in the country.

Who is eligible for the FASTag annual pass?

The FASTag Annual Pass is available for eligible non-commercial vehicles only. This includes:

  • Cars
  • Jeeps
  • Vans

To be eligible, the vehicle must have a valid and functional FASTag. The pass allows travel across approximately 1,150 fee plazas located on national highways and national expressways across India.

How does the FASTag annual pass work?

  • You pay a one-time fee of Rs 3,075 (from April 1, 2026) to activate the pass
  • Once activated, the pass is valid for one year or 200 toll plaza crossings, whichever comes first
  • The pass works at all fee plazas on national highways, regardless of how much the toll charge is at each plaza
  • This means whether the toll at a particular plaza is Rs 50 or Rs 200, your annual pass covers it all.

How to activate the FASTag annual pass

Download the Rajmarg Yatra mobile application or visit the official NHAI website

Log in and select the FASTag Annual Pass option

Make the one-time payment of Rs 3,075 (applicable from April 1, 2026)

After payment, the pass will be activated on your existing FASTag linked to your vehicle within two hours
