Farhan Akhtar on Aamir Khan-starrer Laal Singh Chaddha: ‘It’s a beautiful film’

Aamir Khan starrer Laal Singh Chaddha is finally out in theatres. The biopic was helmed by Advait Chandan, which features Kareena Kapoor Khan, Naga Chaitanya and Mona Singh in the lead roles.
However, the film didn’t start on a good note at the box office and has faced numerous hurdles on its way ahead of its theatrical release. Laal Singh Chaddha collected approx Rs 19 crore in 2 days at the box office and has been receiving a mixed bag of reviews from the audience and critics.
Over the past couple of days, tinsel town celebrities went to watch the movie in the cinema hall and then penned down their views on the film. Joining the trail after Bollywood superstar Hrithik Roshan, filmmaker-actor Farhan Akhtar took to his Instagram and shared his view of the film.
Taking to his Instagram stories, the Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara actor wrote a small heartwarming note, “Such a beautiful film. Not easy to live up to a classic like Forrest Grump, but Laal Singh Chaddha holds its own. Congratulations to the team.” It seems Farhan is all heart after watching Aamir’s flick.
However, on Saturday (August 13), Hrithik Roshan and his film Vikram Vedha faced a plethora of backlash because netizens were not happy with the actor’s tweet on Aamir’s movie. They took to social media platforms and started tweeting “boycott Vikram Vedha.”
In addition, one of the renowned international media outlets, The Academy gave a thumbs up to this film and called it “faithful to Tom Hanks”. They tweeted, “Forrest Gump, Laal Singh Chaddha… Robert Zemeckis and Eric Roth’s sweeping story of a man who changes the world with kindness receive a faithful Indian adaptation in Advait Chandan and Atul Kulkarni’s Laal Singh Chaddha feat. Aamir Khan in the role made famous by Tom Hanks.”
Apart from this, Laal Singh Chaddha was released on August 11 alongside Akshay Kumar’s Raksha Bandhan.
