Fan touches Gautam Gambhir’s feet; Ex-Indian cricketer wins hearts by giving his autograph

Former Indian cricketer Gautam Gambhir made a fan’s day with a special during the ongoing Legends League tournament taking place in various venues across the country. Gambhir is the captain of the Indian Capitals franchise which is owned by the GMR group and are one of the four teams taking part in the competition.
After the 7th game of the tournament between the Gujarat Giants and Indian Capitals at Delhi’s famous Arun Jaitley Stadium, a young fan approached Capitals skipper Gambhir and touched his feet. Seeing the fan’s love and adulation for him, Gambhir made the youngsters’ day by giving him his autograph. The fan also hilariously told him ‘Ek baar aap mantri banaoge (You will become minister one day).
This is the first Gambhir is taking part in this competition having not been part of the inaugural season earlier this year that took place in Muscat, Oman. So far, the Gambhir-led are on top of the table with a tally of five points from four games which include two wins, one loss, and one game that was washed out due to rain.
Gambhir has played just two games and is yet to fire with the bat. In his two outings with the bat, the left-handed opener has made just 26 runs. The Capitals will be next seen in action on Thursday (29th September) when they face Harbhajan Singh’s Manipal Tigers at the Barabati Stadium in Cuttack.
Gambhir is still actively involved with the sport despite retiring. In addition to playing these leagues for retired players, he is also the mentor for Indian Premier League (IPL) franchise Lucknow SuperGiants (LSG) who made their debut in the world’ richest cricket league in 2022. Gambhir is also a commentator and was recently seen behind the mic during the 2022 Indian Premier League (IPL).
