A Special CBI court  convicted former JD(U) Rajya Sabha MP Anil Kumar Sahni in the LTC scam case, officials noted. According to officials, Sahni was charged for fraudulently claiming travelling and dearness allowance reimbursements while being a member of the Upper House.

An RJD MLA now, Anil Kumar Sahni forged e-tickets and fake boarding passes and scammed Rs 23.71 lakh from the Upper House in the guise of travel and dearness allowance reimbursement without actually undertaking any journey.

A case against Sahni was registered by the Central investigative agency in October 2013 after a reference to the same by the Central Vigilance Commission (CVC).
