‘Eventbaazi by jumla king’: Congress snubs Modi govt’s ‘Rozgar Mela’ recruitment drive

As Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched ‘Rozgar Mela’, the recruitment drive for 10 lakh personnel, the Congress termed the government’s scheme as “eventbaazi” by the “jumla king” and asked when the youth of the country would get the promised 16 crore jobs.
Prime Minister Modi earlier  launched ‘Rozgar Mela’ drive via video conferencing. During the ceremony, appointment letters were handed over to 75,000 government job aspirants.
Congress general secretary Randeep Surjewala said the BJP had promised two crore jobs to youth every year after coming to power at the Centre which he alleged has not been provided in the last eight years.
He said the Congress’ Bharat Jodo Yatra has merely passed through four states and the BJP government had to admit that unemployment is the biggest problem the country faces.
“At least, the ‘jumla king’ has been forced by Rahul Gandhi to admit that unemployment is the biggest problem the country and the youth face,” he said in a tweet in Hindi, calling it the first biggest achievement of the Rahul Gandhi-led Bharat Jodo Yatra.
“No Eventbaazi, provide employment,” Surjewala said.
He further said Prime Minister Modi should tell by when he would provide 16 crore jobs as he had promised to “provide two crore jobs every year in the last eight years”.
“By when would these 16 crore jobs be provided and by when would 30 lakh vacancies in government departments be filled up. The Prime Minister would have to answer the youth of the country…Things would not move by giving merely 70,000 appointment letters and the youth of the country want jobs and the Prime Minister would have to answer them,” he said in a video message on Twitter.
