The BCCI took to X (formerly Twitter) on September 18 to tease an exclusive interview featuring head coach Gautam Gambhir and batting icon Virat Kohli. Both have been a part of innumerable matches for Team India in all formats but also saw their share of heated exchanges that made them the front-page boys for every news medium. However, in the teaser, Virat said they are putting all the drama behind and moving into a pristine phase.
Virat Kohli And Gautam Gambhir Interview Each Other
In the 1:40 mins teaser of the interview which is available on the BCCI official website, Gambhir and Kohli watch highlights from the 2011 ODI World Cup final, with Gambhir later praising Kohli’s outstanding performance during the 2014-15 Border-Gavaskar Trophy.
“I remember when you had that bumper series on Australia where you scored heaps and heaps of runs and that got you in touch zone. And for me, it was exactly the same when I played in Napier. And if I look back, can I bat for another two and a half days? I don’t think so. I could have ever done that again. And I have never been in that zone ever in my life after that. So, I can imagine how good that feeling is to be in that zone. And I’m sure you must have experienced this many more times as compared to what I have,” Gambhir said.
Virat Kohli With Opposition
Gambhir also trolled Virat Kohli when asked about encounter with opposition during his playing days.
“When you’re batting and you have a bit of a chat with the opposition, did you ever feel like this might carry on to you going out of the zone and you potentially getting out, or did it put you in a more motivated space?” Kohli asked Gambhir, to which he replied, “You had more alterations than I have. I think you can answer the question better than I can.”
