Elon Musk bought Twitter for $44 billion last week. Hours after closing the deal, he fired Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Parag Agrawal, Chief Financial Officer (CFO) Ned Segal, and Vijaya Gadde, Twitter’s top legal and policy executive. More importantly, the world’s richest man tweeted “the bird is freed” in an apparent reference to Twitter, which has a blue bird as its logo.
Musk, in his latest tweet, shared an autogenerated mail from Twitter that asked him to complete a mandatory course. As per the email, Musk, 51, has 30 days to finish the required “Managing @Twitter 101” training. Needless to say, the latest Twitter thread by Musk went viral on the microblogging site.
“Just received this email from Twitter. This is an actual, real email that was autogenerated,” he tweeted, sharing a screenshot of the mail.
The mail mentioned:
“Hey Elon, It’s time to start Managing @Twitter 101 (M101)!
M101 covers what it means to be a good manager at Twitter by showing you how to create opportunities for impact, help your Tweeps grow their careers, and demonstrate care for your team.
Psst…you’ve only got 30 days to finish this mandatory course. And once you’re done, we’ll enroll you in Managing @Twitter 201.”
So demanding to allow a mere 30 days to learn this priceless information!’ and ‘But Management 201 is such a tantalizing carrot …,” the billionaire mentioned in a separate tweet.
Worth mentioning here is that a user by the handle @sharonmufaro wrote, “Perfect…lol The owner of Twitter has to do a mandatory Managing 101.”
Earlier, replying to a Twitter user who asked the tech tycoon if he is the new CEO, Musk replied ‘My title is Chief Twit right there in the bio. No idea who the CEO is.’
Since Musk completed the acquisition of Twitter, the microblogging site itself has been buzzing with memes. In fact, the Tesla boss started the meme fest when he entered Twitter headquarters in San Francisco last week with a kitchen sink, and tweeting ‘let that sink in’
Meanwhile, Twitter will revise its user verification policy. “Whole verification process is being revamped right now”, Musk said in his tweet without giving more details on what may change.
However, according to a report in The Verge, Twitter is currently mulling to charge $19.99 for the new Twitter Blue subscription.
