Election Over, Feud Over! Donald Trump Meets ‘Communist Lunatic’ Zohran Mamdani For First Time After Victory – What Does It Mean?

They called each other names. They hurled insults. They threatened destruction. During the New York City mayoral election, US President Donald Trump branded Zohran Mamdani a “100% communist lunatic” and “completely insane,” while Mamdani fired back, calling Trump’s administration “authoritarian” and declaring himself “Donald Trump’s worst nightmare.” But on Friday, November 21, the impossible happened: the sworn enemies shook hands at the White House. Whether their hearts truly met remains the ultimate mystery.

From Bitter Enemies To Unlikely Allies: The Shocking White House Meeting

In a stunning turn that nobody saw coming, President Trump and NYC Mayor-elect Mamdani held their first face-to-face meeting since the election wrapped up. The encounter wasn’t about their bitter differences; it was about their shocking common ground. Housing affordability, grocery prices, utility costs, the very issues both men rode to victory, dominated the conversation in what can only be described as the most unexpected political alliance of 2025.

“We’re going to help him so that everyone’s dream comes true — a strong and very safe New York,” Trump told reporters in the Oval Office, standing beside the man he once vowed to destroy politically. Mamdani, visibly moved, responded: “What I really appreciated about the President is that our meeting didn’t focus on the disagreements, which are many, but also focused on our shared purpose of serving New Yorkers.”

Trump Forgets Everything: All Past Insults Wiped Clean

Trump conveniently ignored everything. The deportation raids: criticism? Forgotten. The “fascist” accusations? Water under the bridge. The “authoritarian” charges? Ancient history. Instead, Trump claimed that executive responsibility changes people, including himself, and predicted Mamdani would “actually surprise some conservatives.”

When reporters pressed Mamdani about calling Trump a fascist, frustration flickered across his face. But the Democratic Socialist, set to take office in January, stayed diplomatic, emphasizing their shared goal of making New York more affordable.

The Ugly Campaign That Came Before This Handshake

Let’s not forget the carnage that came before this handshake. Just one day before the election, Trump endorsed independent candidate Andrew Cuomo, declaring New York had “ZERO chance” of succeeding or even surviving under Mamdani. He questioned Mamdani’s citizenship, threatened to arrest him for non-cooperation with immigration agents, and vowed to strip federal funding from his hometown.

Historic Shift: Yesterday’s Enemy, Today’s Partner

Yet here they stood, enemies turned allies, at least for the cameras. This White House meeting marks a historic shift that could reshape American politics and New York City’s future, proving once again that in politics, yesterday’s worst enemy can become today’s necessary partner.
