Ajay Devgn and Tabu starrer Drishyam 2, the sequel to the highly acclaimed 2013 Drishyam is continuing its dream run at the box office. As per latest reports, the film has crossed the lifetime collection of Bollywood’s biggest blockbuster of 2022, The Kashmir Files.
DRISHYAM 2 TRUMPS THE KASHMIR FILES
As per latest reports, Ajay Devgn’s Drishyam 2 took 42 days at the theatre to cross the lifetime biz of Vivek Agnihotri’s The Kashmir Files. The film is now aiming to cross the lifetime business of Vicky Kaushal’s Uri: The Surgical Strike at the worldwide box office.
According to latest updates, Drishyam 2 has earned Rs 230.75 crore nett in India, which equals Rs 272.28 crore gross. Overseas, the film has earned Rs 56.50 crore gross so far. Combining these figures, the grand total stands at Rs 328.78 crore gross at the worldwide box office which is higher than the lifetime collection of The Kashmir Files, which stands at Rs 326.95 crore gross.
DRISHYAM 2 BOX OFFICE
A while back, film critic and trade analyst Taran Adarsh took to Twitter to share the business of Drishyam 2, stating tha the film remains steady at theatres in week 5. Adarsh tweeted, “#Drishyam2 is super-steady in Week 6… Will score yet again in the holiday weekend… [Week 6] Fri 53 lacs, Sat 1.07 cr, Sun 1.66 cr, Mon 73 lacs, Tue 70 lacs, Wed 65 lacs, Thu 68 lacs. Total: ₹ 230.70 cr. #India biz.”
With the film earning Rs 104.66 crore in its opening week, Drishyam 2 has kept on steadily adding to it, with Rs 58.82 crore in second week, Rs 32.82 crore in third week and so on. The film has raked in Rs 19.40 crore, Rs 8.98 crore, Rs 6.02 crore in the other three weeks to bring the cumulative total earning of Drishyam 2 at Rs 230.70 crore, deeming the film a blockbuster at the box office.
