DPL 2025: Anuj Rawat Blitz Powers East Delhi To Thrilling Win Despite Priyansh Arya’s Century

The 12th match of the Delhi Premier League 2025 turned into a run-fest, with East Delhi Riders chasing down a mammoth 232-run target to defeat Outer Delhi Warriors by 5 wickets and 4 balls to spare.

Priyansh Arya’s Blazing Century Sets the Stage

Batting first after losing the toss, Outer Delhi Warriors piled up 231/7 in their 20 overs. The star of the show was Priyansh Arya, who played a breathtaking knock of 111 runs off just 56 deliveries. The 23-year-old opener started briskly, bringing up his half-century at a rapid pace before shifting into top gear to smash his century in only 52 balls. His whirlwind innings featured 7 fours and 9 towering sixes, at a strike rate of 198.

Karan Garg provided solid support with a quickfire 43 off 24 balls, while Shivam Sharma chipped in with an unbeaten 16 off 9 balls in the death overs, ensuring a big total for the Warriors.

East Delhi Stumble Early, Then Strike Back

Chasing 232, East Delhi Riders had a shaky start. Opener Sujal Singh departed without scoring, and Hardik Sharma followed soon after for just 4 runs. When the scoreboard read 51/3, the chase looked in trouble. But then, Arpit Rana and Anuj Rawat turned the game on its head with a match-winning partnership.

The duo added 130 runs for the fourth wicket, dismantling the Warriors’ bowling attack. Arpit played a composed yet aggressive knock of 79 off 45 balls, hitting 8 boundaries and 4 sixes. Anuj was even more destructive, blasting 84 off just 35 deliveries at a strike rate of 240, including 2 fours and a staggering 9 sixes.

Mayank Rawat Finishes in Style

With the equation still tight in the final overs, Mayank Rawat stepped in and delivered the killer blow, smashing 32 runs off just 12 balls. His cameo ensured East Delhi crossed the line in 19.2 overs, sealing an emphatic win in a match that will be remembered for explosive batting from both sides.

Unfortunately for the Warriors, Priyansh Arya’s brilliant century ended up on the losing side – a reminder that in T20 cricket, even a gem of an innings can be overshadowed by a strong all-round chase.
