‘Virat Kohli Is My Favourite Player’, Says Priyansh Arya
This young cricketer created history by becoming the first player in the tournament to smash six sixes in a single over. The IPL mega auction is nearing, but Arya is currently focused on the ongoing Delhi Premier League (DPL). He currently leads the DPL run charts, having scored 602 runs in 9 innings with two centuries, at an average of 75.25 and a phenomenal strike rate of 198.0.
“Virat Kohli is my favourite, want to play for RCB. My favourite team is RCB, admire Virat Kohli a lot, I like his aggression. I also like to play aggressive cricket. He is my idol,” said Priyansh in an exclusive interview with PTI Videos on Tuesday
Talking about his 6 sixes in an over, he said, “I had this thing in mind that if a left-arm spinner comes on to bowl, I will attack him. After the fourth six, I started to believe that I can hit six sixes and will go for that. Ayush backed me and told me to go for the kill,”
South Delhi Superstarz Aim To Win The DPL Title
Priyansh Arya currently sits at the top as the highest run getter of the tournament. He is aiming to win the inaugural title of DPL.
He also applauded the skipper of South Delhi Superstarz for his incredible leadership and the way he has supported the players to play freely on field.
“Badoni’s quite relaxed and doesn’t talk much, just tells us to express ourselves. The team’s environment is calm, coaches talk about the positives rather than negatives. The mindset is to win the trophy.
“The semi-final and final are the two most important matches so just taking it game by game,” said the youngster.
South Delhi Superstarz is currently at the second position in the points table, just after East Delhi Riders with 12 points. The top two teams will be seen competing against each other on September 5.
