DMRC Enhances Travel Experience, Makes This Change At 41 Stations

Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) has recently put up sign boards at 41 railway stations. Officials explained that a metro station is within two kilometers of each of these railway stations. This move follows DMRC’s agreement with IRCTC, allowing passengers to buy metro tickets from DMRC’s website. A DMRC official mentioned that the sign boards will help railway passengers find the nearest metro station, which can be very useful.

For example, a signboard at Tilak Bridge railway station directs passengers to the ITO metro station. Another signboard at Patel Nagar railway station points to the Satguru Ram Singh Marg metro station. An official mentioned that these 41 railway stations are all within two kilometers of a metro station. Many passengers, both from Delhi and beyond, aren’t aware of the nearby metro stations, so these signboards have been installed to help them.

Earlier this month, DMRC announced that you can now book metro tickets with QR codes on the IRCTC website and mobile app. Previously, metro tickets were valid for just one day, but now you can book them up to 120 days in advance, and they will be valid for four days. This makes it easier to plan your travel.

The ticket will be valid starting from one day before your travel date. A DMRC official said this new system will enhance the travel experience for rail passengers. They will be able to book Delhi Metro tickets directly from the train ticket confirmation page, connecting it with the source or destination stations in Delhi-NCR. Passengers can also book Delhi Metro tickets later through the booking history page. Besides railway stations, 71 two-way signboards have been set up at schools, colleges, and corporate offices.
