Diljit Dosanjh’s Fans Scammed With Fake Tickets, Denied Entry: ‘Total Waste To Come Here’

Diljit Dosanjh has officially kickstarted his much-awaited concert in Delhi. Amid the excitement and craze to see the Punjabi singer live, many fans were scammed as well. According to PTI, one fan revealed that he bought tickets from someone outside the venue but it turned out to be fake.

The fan told PTI, “It was a total waste to come here.” Revealing how he was turned away by security, he shared, “I came here without a ticket and met someone who sold me a fake one. They charged me a lot of money for it.”

The tour organizers had warned fans to only buy the tickets from the authorised seller – ZomatoLive. Despite this warning, many fans were scammed.

Another fan revealed he struggled to buy the ticket online. He said, “I struggled for nine hours on Zomato Live to get some tickets and finally got one. My girlfriend has another ticket, but she’s sitting on the other side. We’re in two different rows.”

The Enforcement Directorate (ED) earlier raided around 20 locations in Delhi, Mumbai, Jaipur, Chandigarh, and Bangalore in relation to the black market performance by ticket scalpers of Coldplay’s forthcoming “Music of the Spheres” tour and Diljit Dosanjh’s “Dilluminati” tour. The ED’s investigation is based on allegations of unauthorized ticket resale, ticket scams through fake tickets and exorbitant ticket prices.

Both shows had earlier sold out in minutes through the official ticketing partners –BookMyShow and Zomato Live. FIRs were lodged on charges of fake ticket selling and outrageous ticket selling prices across several states. Even, BookMyShow has filed FIRs against many of the suspects involved in these scams by itself.

The raid was conducted on 13 simultaneously in several cities and mobile phones, laptops, and SIM cards were confiscated by the ED. Reports indicate that scammers circulated fake tickets, including those available on Instagram, WhatsApp and Telegram, authorities said.
