‘Dhyan rakhna, ye toh apna ladka hai’: Ravindra Jadeja recalls what PM Modi told MS Dhoni during his introduction

Team India all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja recently recalled his first meeting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi, a decade ago. Jadeja recollected what PM Modi had said to MS Dhoni, when the former Indian captain had introduced him.
In a video posted by Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM), Jadeja said, “I had first met him (Modi) in 2010 in Ahmedabad. He was the chief minister of Gujarat back then.
“We (India) had a match against South Africa in the Motera Stadium. Mahi bhai (MS Dhoni), who was our captain back then introduced me to him. Modi Sahab ne khud bola ki ‘bhai ye toh apna ladka hai, dhyaan rkhna (Modi Sir said himself, ‘He’s our boy, take care of him)’,” Jadeja said while laughing as he jogged his memory back
Jadeja was glad that when a person of a big stature like him says something like this, he felt great. “That’s when you feel…. a person of such big stature comes to you and says this personally. Ek alag si feeling aati hai. I felt really good when he said this,” he added.
Jadeja’s wife Rivaba recently got a BJP ticket from Jamnagar (north) Assembly seat in the Gujarat elections. Jadeja himself had met the Union Home Minister Amit Shah earlier on Monday.
Jadeja doubtful for Bangladesh tour
The all-rounder was ruled out during the Asia Cup for a considerable period of cricketing action due to a knee injury, for which he underwent a surgery. Jadeja is on the recovery path and after missing the T20 World Cup and the New Zealand tour, it was expected that the all-rounder will be fit by December, come the Bangladesh series. However, this is not the case as several reports have stated that he might be falling behind in the race against time to be fit and the BCCI may soon name his replacement.
