India is undertaking various projects to make the road even better. Both Central and state governments are implementing several highway and expressway-related projects. These roads and infrastructure contribute significantly to the country’s development.
Five Upcoming Expressway Projects
Delhi-Dehradun Expressway
Delhi-Dehradun Expressway will be a 213-km long route. The project is under the Bharatmala Pariyojana initiative. The main aim of the project is to boost connectivity and the development of roads. The cost of the project is Rs 13,000 crore.
According to media reports, the Delhi-Dehradun expressway is set to open to the public by the end of December 2024 or in January 2025.
Banashankari-NICE Expressway
Bengaluru, a city full of IT industries, is known as the IT hub of India. It is always in the headlines due to multiple unique issues. The city deals with traffic-related issues. To address such issues it is going to get a 10-km long expressway.
The estimated cost of the project is Rs 1,200 crore. The project will make travel comfortable for the commuters. The route will connect Banashakari to NICE Road. The route will save time for commuters.
Ghaziabad-Kanpur Expressway
Uttar Pradesh is going to get a 380-km-long expressway that will connect Ghaziabad and Kanpur. UP is the fourth state largest in terms of area. The expressway is going to benefit the residents of UP.
Ther route will connect 9 districts, including Ghaziabad, Hapur, Bulandshahr, Aligarh, Kasganj, Farrukhabad, Kannauj, and Unnao.
Jaipur-Bandikui Expressway
The Jaipur-Bandikui Expressway is going to make the travel easier for the commuters who will be using the route. This route is a part of Delhi-Mumbai Expressway.
The expressway will help reduce the travel time from several hours to just three hours. Traveling on this route will make the journey comfortable for commuters. The Jaipur-Bandikui Expressway is a four-lane expressway and is 67 km long.
Narmada Expressway
Madhya Pradesh is going to get the largest expressway in the state. This will be nearly 1200 km long road that cross 11 districts of the state and costs around Rupees 31 thousand crore. It has been named Narmada Expressway. This expressway is four times bigger than Yamuna Expressway. About 30 national highways, state highways and roads of districts will be connected to Narmada Expressway, which will clearly benefit the development of these districts. The Expressway is being constructed from Amarkantak which is in Anuppur district to Alirajpur district. The expressway will pass through Anuppur, Dindori, Mandla, Jabalpur, Narsinghpur, Hoshangabad, Harda, Khandwa, Khargone, Barwani and Alirajpur.
