Coming soon: Sourav Ganguly hints at comeback to cricket for first time since BCCI Presidency in cryptic tweet

Former Indian captain and one of the greatest cricketers to have played the sport in history, Sourav Ganguly left his fans in excitement by posting a cryptic tweet hinting at his return to the sport in some capacity. Ganguly did not mention what his upcoming venture is about but did say something is coming soon.
Ganguly posted a video showing him holding his bat and striking some vintage shots in a short teaser. The viral clip did not give more details on what the post is about and what the legendary Indian cricketer’s next step will be in the aftermath of his tenure as the president of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) ending. Many fans have speculated that he will be soon announcing his biopic.
Ganguly was at the helm of the Indian cricket governing body for a period of two years from November 2019 to October 2022. He was replaced in the top job by Ex-Indian fast bowler and 1983 World Cup-winner Roger Binny earlier this year after the BCCI elections.
Ganguly’s tenure saw the BCCI battle a tough period due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The Ganguly-led administration successfully shifted two seasons of the Indian Premier league (IPL) to the UAE with the virus not making it possible for India to host the tournament. They managed to ensure that white-ball domestic cricket takes place in both years while Ranji Trophy also returned in 2022.
However, Ganguly’s tenure had its share of controversies especially the removal of Virat Kohli as ODI captain which was widely criticised.
Ganguly played a total of 113 Test matches and 311 ODIs for India and led the national team for a period of five years in which they were joint winners of the 2002 champions trophy and reached the final of the 2003 Cricket World Cup. India also drew a Test series away to England and Australia under Ganguly’s leadership.
