Shankh Air will be India’s latest airline to commence operations once it gets approval from the country’s aviation industry regulator, the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA). The Uttar Pradesh based airline has already secured all necessary approvals required from the Ministry of Civil Aviation to extend flight services to the citizens. Now, DGCA’s go ahead is awaited. Shankh Air’s owner is entrepreneur Sharvan Kumar Vishwakarma of Shankh Aviation Private Limited.
The airline has already secured the No Objection Certificate (NOC) for three years. The aircraft services company will be the first scheduled airline to launch from Uttar Pradesh. According to information mentioned on the company’s website, the airline’s national operations will be managed from Lucknow and Noida offices. While, it will also operate its flights from the upcoming Noida Internatinal Airport.
Shankh Air First Flight:
The company is ready to fly its inaugural flight in the latter part of 2024. It has made it clear that its flights will operate on those routes for which there is robust demand and limited airline services, currently. The UP based airline mainly wants to extend flying services to people in Tier –II and Tier –III cities
Will Shankh Air Be A Budget Airline?
According to its website, the company aim to become a full service carrier with two separate classes for passengers in its flights. The fleet will consist of Boeing 737-800NG narrow-body aircraft. The air carrier is in process of hiring aviation professionals.
India’s New Airlines:
Few more carriers are in the queue to start operations in India at national or international level. Stock market investor, Ramesh Damani’s Fly91, South India based Air Kerela are also in the pipeline to operate at national level.
India’s airline industry is currently world’s third largest. The sector is expected to grow at a healthy rate in years to come due to anticipated surge in demand.
