Chaos erupted in the Lok Sabha after opposition MPs and BJP MPs got involved in a verbal spat. The verbal duel took place after BJP MP Nishikant Dubey made remarks against the Gandhi family, which drew sharp reactions from Congress MPs.
After the Lok Sabha was adjourned, Congress MPs met Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla and registered their protest against the Chair’s decision to allow Nishikant Dubey to speak against the Gandhi family.
According to reports, Congress MP Deepender Singh Hooda objected to Dubey’s remarks and met Om Birla along with other Congress MPs. Union Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju was also present.
TDP MP Krishna Prasad Tenneti, who was in the Chair, asked Dubey to speak on President Murmu’s address, but Dubey continued with his speech.
Dubey said while Rahul Gandhi wants to speak about an unpublished book, he has brought a series of books to expose the Gandhi family.
As Dubey kept listing books and what they said about various members of the Gandhi family, Tenneti said he cannot allow this as the Speaker had already given a ruling, disallowing such comments.
Tenneti cited Rule 349 to not make such remarks.
