In a scathing attack on Amarinder Singh, former IPS officer and principal strategic advisor to Navjot Singh Sidhu, Mohammad Mustafa claimed that the Captain is targeting the Gandhi family.
Captain’s target is not Sidhu but the Gandhi family and I will not allow him to target the Gandhi family, he said.
Warning the outgoing Punjab CM, Mustafa said if Amarinder calls Sidhu a traitor again then he will open the “whole book”.
He also accused the Captain of humiliating Punjab for the last 5 years, saying the people in the grand old party have been tolerating him for the last 4.5 years.
“If I was the leader of the party, then I would have removed Captain from the party in 30 days,” he added.
In a blistering attack on the cricketer-turned-politician after tendering his resignation on Saturday, Amarinder Singh had said that Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan and its Army chief Qamar Javed Bajwa were his friends.
Will oppose any move to make him CM, Amarinder vowed saying it is a matter of national security.
“He is going to a disaster. It is up to the Congress Party that they made him the party state president. But if they made Sidhu the face of the Chief Minister I will oppose him. Because it is a matter of national security,” he said.
Saying that he won’t accept Sidhu, Amarinder further said “something is unstable in that man I do not what it is.” Calling him “an incompetent man”, Singh asked how he can run the entire state when he cannot run a ministry.
His only target is to become the chief minister, he claimed.
Singh’s resignation came months before the assembly polls in the state amid unending factionalism in the state Congress.
Meanwhile, the BJP has asked Congress if it will take cognizance of the allegations and take action.
Calling Singh’s charges “extremely serious”, senior BJP leader Prakash Javadekar asked why Congress president Sonia Gandhi and its two other main leaders Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi Vadra have kept silence.
