‘Cancel SP, RJD registration’: VHP seeks appointment with Election Commission over Ramcharitmanas

A demand has been made to the Election Commission of India by writing a letter to the polling body to cancel the recognition of the Samajwadi Party (SP) and Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) by Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP).
The VHP has sought a meeting with the Chief Election Commissioner soon in this regard where a demand will be made to cancel the recognition of SP and RJD.
VHP Central Working President Alok Kuman said, “A letter has been sent to the Chief Election Commissioner to take time in this regard. Section 29A of the VHP Representation of People Act 1951 has been cited through the delegation. This will tell the Election Commission that every political party should faithfully follow the secular and democratic principles, having faith in the provisions of the memorandum of its party.”
The Central Working President said, “SP leader Swami Prasad Maurya made statements on Ramcharitmanas, demanded to ban it and by burning the holy pages of the Manas of his colleagues, the religious sentiments of a large section of the citizens of India were deliberately incited in a disgusting manner.”
Immediately after this Maurya was promoted to become the General Secretary of the party, it is clear that the whole party is in support of his misdeed.
Demanding cancellation of RJD’s recognition, VHP has written, “RJD leader and Education Minister of Bihar, Dr Chandrashekhar also made hateful remarks and demanded a ban on Ramcharitmanas. All this was also done to contaminate the atmosphere and create disbelief in Hindu society. It was done with the mindset of creating discrimination and disharmony. The party also did not take any action against him. This indicates that his party also agrees with his anti-Hindu statements.”
