Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader from West Bengal, Mukul Roy, rejected speculation that he may quit the party to rejoin Trinamool Congress (TMC).
The BJP leader asserted that his fight would continue as a ‘soldier of BJP to restore democracy in West Bengal.
On Friday, Mukul Roy did not attend a crucial BJP’s legislators meet leading to speculations that he may return to the TMC.

However, clearing the air, Roy said in a tweet, “My fight would continue as a soldier of BJP to restore democracy in our state. I would request everyone to put the concoctions and conjectures to rest. I am resolute in my political path.”
Roy earned praise from BJP president JP Nadda who called his statement “praiseworthy”.
Roy is one of the likely candidates to be elected as the Leader of Opposition in the West Bengal Assembly.
Besides Roy, the other name doing the rounds in the political circle is Suvendu Adhikari, Mamata Banerjee’s right-hand man who defeated her from Nandigram.
BJP Legislators boycott election for the speaker in the West Bengal assembly
Meanwhile, West Bengal BJP president Dilip Ghosh said that party legislators will boycott the election for the speaker in the West Bengal assembly and its newly elected lawmakers will not attend the House till the post-poll violence in the state is controlled.
The BJP lawmakers will not attend the Assembly in protest against the post-poll violence, he added.
” We will not attend the speaker’s election tomorrow. We will also not attend the sessions of the House,” Ghosh told reporters at the state assembly.
He further said that they will not come to the assembly till all the BJP MLAs get full protection.
