BJP spent Rs 6,300 crore on toppling govts of other parties: Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal

Delhi CM and AAP national convenor Arvind Kejriwal  in yet another hit on the BJP-led Central government, alleged that the ‘GST on food items was not needed if BJP hadn’t spent Rs 6,300 crore on toppling governments of other parties.’
“The GST that has been imposed on curd, buttermilk, honey, wheat, rice etc., will bring 7500 cr annually to the central government. So far they have spent 6300 cr on toppling the governments. If these governments had not toppled, then GST would not have been imposed on wheat, rice, buttermilk etc. People do not have to face inflation,” Kejriwal wrote in a tweet.
Notably, Kejriwal’s statements come a day after his ‘serial killer of governments’ remark targeting the BJP during an address in the Delhi Assembly. Slammed the BJP for allegedly toppling ‘several governments in the country till date,’ Kejriwal said, “They toppled several governments in the country till date – Goa, Karnataka, Maharashtra, Assam, MP, Bihar, Arunachal Pradesh, Manipur & Meghalaya. There is a serial killer in the city who is committing one murder after the other. People choose a Govt, they topple it.”
Earlier, Kejriwal alleged that BJP tried to bribe 40 MLAs to break away from the party in an attempt to topple the ruling AAP government in Delhi. “BJP was targeting 40 AAP MLAs with an offer of Rs 20 crore each to switch sides,” he said.
“We’ve calculated that 277 MLAs have come to their party (BJP), now if they would’ve given Rs 20 cr to each MLA then they’ve bought MLAs worth Rs 5,500 crores. That’s why there’s inflation as they’re using all the money to buy MLAs at expense of the common man,” he said.
