‘BJP instils fear and anger by saying Jai Shri Ram’: Ashok Gehlot

Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot took a swipe at the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and alleged that the party is playing games to win elections.
Further, he said that the saffron camp instils fear and anger by saying ‘Jai Shri Ram’ and asked why they don’t say ‘Jai Siya Ram’, as suggested by Congress MP Rahul Gandhi.
“BJP is playing games to win elections. Rahul Gandhi ji asked why didn’t they (BJP) say ‘Jai Siya Ram’? Entire country respects ‘Sita Mata’. They instigate people and instil fear and anger by saying ‘Jai Shri Ram’. They (BJP) divided Lord Ram & Goddess Sita,” Rajasthan CM Ashok Gehlot said.
Earlier this month, Rahul Gandhi has accused the RSS of “suppressing women” and claimed that that was the reason why the organisation has no female members.
Addressing a street corner meeting at Bagdi village in Dausa district, Mr Gandhi said, “You will not find a woman in their organisation … you will not find a woman in RSS… they suppress women, they do not allow women to enter their organisation.” The RSS has a women wing named Rashtra Sevika Samiti.
“I want to ask the RSS and BJP people, you say Jai Shri Ram but why do you not say Jai Siyaram? Why did you remove Sita Maa? Why do you insult her? Why do you insult the women of India?” he posed.

Congress slams Centre

Congress has been miffed with the BJP-led Central government ever since Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya sent a letter to Rahul Gandhi and Ashok Gehlot and urged them to either ensure Covid protocols are followed or cancel the march. As the letter promptly snowballed into a major political row, the Health Minister issued a clarification saying that it was not political at all.
“It’s not political at all. I am the health minister and have to take care of this. I have always followed up the progress of requirement to follow Covid-19 rules”, the minister said.
Targetting the BJP over the letter, Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge today said that “there is no Covid anywhere”. He also claimed that the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is trying to create fear, adding that the saffron party is in fear due to the Bharat Jodo Yatra and is taking the excuse of Covid to stop it.
“BJP is in fear due to Bharat Jodo Yatra and is taking excuse of Covid. There is no Covid anywhere. Nothing happened to anyone. PM Modi himself doesn’t wear a mask. All this is being done to create fear among people and break this Yatra,” he said.
