Maine Pyar Kiya actress Bhagyashree’s husband Himalay Dassani underwent major surgery recently. Himalay has undergone a keyhole surgery for shoulder rotator cuff muscle where a 3 cm tear needed to be stitched back.
As explained by Bhagyashree, the rotator cuff is responsible for the movement of the arm and is the only joint that gives 360-degree rotation to the arm. So, when tendons and muscles that hold the joint are torn, the blood supply is reduced, and hence, the arm loses its complete movement
The actress also shared that the surgery took almost 4.5 hours. Taking to Instagram, she shared a video where she can be seen in a hospital with her husband, who is seen going for surgery. In the later part of the clip, he is seen lying on a hospital bed and recovering.
She wrote in the caption, “Hospital repeat! Major surgery of the right shoulder that took close to 4.5 hours. Fractures heal, tears have to be sutured, refracted tendons need to be clamped…it is important to go to the right doctor at the right time. We were told that he would be fine in one day.. and we didnt believe it could be possible.. but thanks to the medical facilities and post-op care of Dr.Gautam Tawari and his team from @nanavatihospital hubby’s surgery went well.. and now in recuperation.The reason for sharing this is for people to understand that even in a surgery this big, recovery can be smooth n fast.”
In another post, she expressed her gratitude toward doctors and wrote, “Hubby is back and smiling! Keyhole surgery for the shoulder rotator cuff muscle was explained. It was a 3cm tear that needed to be stitched back.”
She further explained the medical term and continued, “The rotator cuff is responsible for the movement of your arm.. the only joint that gives you a 360° rotation. When the tendons n muscle holding get torn, the blood getting supplied to the arm reduces and the arm can loose complete movement. Dr.Gautam Tawari from @nanavatihospital explains what had to be done.”
