India’s Silicon Valley Bengaluru has topped the list of tier-1 cities with the highest job creation rate across industries. Jaipur, Vadodra, and Goa are the top job markets among tier-2 cities in India.
Besides Information Technology (IT), Bengaluru creates the most number of jobs in other sectors as well, found survey of Indian cities.
According to the Randstad Insights Talent Trends Report 2022, 37. 58% of junior level, 43. 61% of middle level and 50. 5% of senior-level hiring in tier-1 cities took place in Bengaluru. The southern capital also accounted for 37.9% of junior level, 42.1% of middle level and 46.6% senior level job creation in the FMCG sector during the survey period.
The second edition of the Randstad Insights Talent Trends Report 2022, carried by Economic Times, provided insights into FMCG & retail, telecom & utilities, construction & infrastructure, by analysing trends in eight tier-1 cities and 18 tier-2 cities. The report analysed over 100,000 jobs across experience levels during the survey period from January-July.
Bengaluru was also the top city in terms of availability of talent, infrastructure for remote work, and ease of compliance, among others. Mumbai was ranked highly across all levels in traditional and core industries such as BFSI, PHL, FMCG & retail, telecom, construction & infrastructure, and energy & utilities.
Bengaluru also emerged as the top job creator among all tier-1 cities in the first edition of the report which covered a six-month period spanning September 2021 to February 2022.
It covered banking, financial services and insurance (BFSI), manufacturing, information technology (IT), pharma, healthcare and lifesciences.
The first edition of the report found that Pune emerged as the number two city among tier-1 peers for IT jobs, while Nashik and Thiruvananthapuram ranked as the top Tier-2 cities. In BFSI, Mumbai and Pune among Tier-1 cities, and Jaipur and Vadodara in the Tier-2 cities, witnessed strong hiring.
