Popular Bengali TV actress Ananya Chatterjee died on Friday (August 26) morning due to a lung infection. According to the reports, she was admitted to a hospital for a lung infection and was taking treatment for the same.The sad news of her demise was shared by Joyjit Bannerjee on social media. As soon the news was out, her fans and friends from the industry paid her heartfelt tributes.

Director Anandita Sarbadhikari took to Twitter and express her shock at the death of the actress. She wrote, “Ananya Di is no more. I can’t even imagine. Just missing the smiling face….”

Actress Srilekha Mitra also offered her condolence on social media. They worked together in a Bengali sitcom Aei To Jeevan, where Ananya played the role of Srilekha’s mother.

She was best known for her show Parvarti Sangbad Poonada Dootara Saath.
