The Samyukta Kisan Morcha (SKM) condemned the gruesome murder of a man whose mutilated body was found earlier today near the farmers’ protest site in Haryana’s Kundli on the Singhu-Delhi border.
In a statement, the SKM, an umbrella organisation under which many farmer unions are protesting against the Centre’s agriculture laws, said that neither the victim nor the perpetrators have any connection with the organization.
“An attempt is being made to make the morcha into a religious issue…seemingly a conspiracy. It should be probed,” Jagjit Singh Dallewal of the Samyukta Kisan Morcha said.
As per the statement, the SKM condemned the “gruesome killing” and demanded a thorough probe.
“When we reached the spot, some people were saying that the deceased man, before dying, admitted he was sent by someone and given Rs 30,000. I don’t have the video proof of it. The government should probe this matter thoroughly,” Dallewal said.
The SKM said that “the person from Punjab (Lakhbir Singh, son Darshan Singh, Village Cheema Kala, Police Station Sarai Amanat Khan, District Tarn Taran) was mutilated and murdered this morning at the Singhu Border”.
The mutilated body of the person was found hanging from a police barricade at the protest site near the Singhu border, Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Hansraj said.
