After the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) on Friday gave ”clean chit’ to Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan’s son Aryan Khan in the drugs-on-cruise ship case, several celebrities, political leaders and netizens slammed the anti-drug agency for their probe.
For those unversed, all the charges against Aryan and five others arrested in the same case were dropped due to “lack of evidence.” Former Mumbai Zonal Director Sameer Wankhede has also come under fire for his “shoddy” work while probing the sensational case.
Amongst SRK fans, social media personalities and political leaders, celebrities Pooja Bhatt and Ram Gopal Varma also called out the agency.
The Sadak 2 actress wrote, “Sameer who? Er sorry, where? Ah! Probably very busy being a righteous, publicity shy officer elsewhere? So much of a mess to clean up after all. And who better than the least corrupt of them all to cure society of all evil & rot. Except this time, no selfies allowed. #truthprevails
Meanwhile, RGV also didn’t mince his words. “The only good thing which came about in #AryanKhan case is him being a celebrity @iamsrk ‘s son , it helped in vastly exposing the inefficiency and recklessness of various agencies subjecting innocent people to harassment which otherwise the common people can’t and won’t know of,” he tweeted.
Calling out a section of media for the coverage of the case, producer Atul Kasbekar wrote, “Now that there’s a complete clean chit for #AryanKhan by all the concerned govt agencies… I don’t suppose there’s an apology or some introspection forthcoming from all the media channels that were crucifying the kid in this flimsy case? Too much to expect some good grace.”
Amid the severe backlash, the Central Government has ordered action against former NCB officer Sameer Wankhede for his “shoddy” work while probing the Aryan Khan drugs case.
